Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised the Indian military on Wednesday for executing “Operation Sindoor,” claiming it was India’s retaliation for the horrific Pahalgam terror incident that killed 26 defenseless villagers on April 22.
Additionally, he reiterated India’s resolve to eradicate terrorism at its source.
India conducted ‘Operation Sindoor‘ in response to the terror incident in Pahalgam, hitting nine high-value targets deep into Pakistani territory.
“Proud of our armed forces,” HM Shah wrote on X. Bharat’s answer to the ruthless murder of our defenseless brothers in Pahalgam is Operation Sindoor.
“The Modi administration is committed to responding appropriately to any assault on India and its citizens. “Bharat is steadfast in its resolve to eradicate terrorism at its source,” he continued.
The operation focused on facilities connected to terrorist organizations that carried out the Pahalgam attack in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22, which claimed the lives of 25 Indians and one Nepali.
According to sources, the Prime Minister kept in close contact with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and senior military commanders during the operation.
The nine strikes comprised camps and logistical facilities used by terrorist organizations that operate out of Pakistan and the PoK, according to official authorities.
“Our actions have been focused and precise,” the Indian Army official said, highlighting the specifics of the strikes. Only terrorist camps that have planned and carried out attacks against India have been the focus of our efforts.
The Army went on to explain that the operation was non-escalatory in both intent and execution, with the only goal of destroying the infrastructure supporting terrorism while avoiding harm to Pakistan’s civic, military, and economic institutions.
“Justice has been done. The spokesperson went on, “Jai Hind.”
Indian intelligence had previously linked the Pahalgam bombing to organizations located in Pakistan, with The Resistance Front, a front for Lashkar-e-Taiba, claiming responsibility.
India responded by promising a forceful counterattack that combined military readiness with diplomatic pressure.
One of the biggest cross-border operations India has undertaken since the 2019 Balakot airstrikes is Operation Sindoor.
