The next-generation GST reforms, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, are a step in the direction of creating a stronger and healthier India on Thursday.
PM Modi said the measures reflect the vision of “Swasth Bharat” by making essential food items, cooking essentials, and protein-rich products more affordable for families across the nation. He made this claim while interacting with social media users on X and answering posts made by economists, corporate employees, and middle-class individuals regarding GST 2.0 reforms.
PM Modi stated, “The #NextGenGST measures reflect the vision of ‘Swasth Bharat’ by making essential food items, cooking essentials, and protein-rich products more affordable for families across India.”
The Prime Minister said, “These reforms, when combined with programs like Ayushman Bharat and POSHAN Abhiyaan, strengthen our commitment to better health, balanced nutrition, and improved quality of life for every citizen.”
The Prime Minister emphasized the broader reform journey, pointing out that the last ten years have seen daring choices that have shaped India’s economic environment.
PM Modi recalled the introduction of the GST, which established a single market, the reductions in corporate taxes that promoted investment, and the adjustments to personal income taxes that improved living standards.
The Prime Minister claims that by making the system more straightforward, equitable, and growth-oriented, the new GST reforms carry on this tradition.
Prime Minister Modi went on to say that India’s fiscal restraint has raised international trust and enhanced the nation’s credit ratings, creating a solid basis for a Viksit Bharat.
Additionally, the prime minister connected the reforms to the rural economy, specifically the dairy industry.
According to PM Modi, India’s Annadatas have played a critical role in boosting the rural economy and guaranteeing nutritional security.
“Our Government is still dedicated to revolutionizing India’s dairy industry through programs like the Rashtriya Gokul Mission, assistance for cooperatives, and ongoing reforms. PM Modi went on to say, “The #NextGenGST reforms are another step towards empowering lakhs of dairy farmers, boosting value addition, and making dairy products more affordable for every household.”
