At his home at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg (LKM) in the nation’s capital, Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Raksha Bandhan, a holiday that honors the religious bond between brothers and sisters, on Saturday.
Numerous youngsters and Brahma Kumaris decorated PM Modi’s wrist with ‘rakhis’ and presented him with candies at the joyous occasion.
In a touching moment, youngsters showed their love and affection for the prime minister in a variety of ways, including by pecking his cheeks, shaking hands, smiling warmly, and giving him embraces. In return for his love of children, the prime minister embraced and showered them with blessings.
Pictures released by the Prime Minister’s office show a big throng of kids crowding around PM Modi at his official residence, tying ‘rakhis’ to his wrist one by one.
The focal point of this year’s Raksha Bandhan at the PM’s official residence was the Braham Kumaris, the biggest female-led spiritual organization in the world. While the Prime Minister pledged to strive tirelessly for their improvement, a number of Braham Kumaris tied the sacred thread.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi also wished the country and its citizens a happy Raksha Bandhan, a festival honoring the customary relationship between brothers and sisters.
His post on X’s social media account read, “Best wishes on the special occasion of Raksha Bandhan.”
Raksha Bandhan honors the sacred link between brothers and sisters and is observed on the full moon day of the month of Shravan.
The sister prays and wishes for her brother’s health, happiness, and prosperity while tying the “rakhi” (holy thread), while the brother promises to defend her at all costs and to lavish her with presents.
