According to government sources, India fired down two JF-17 aircraft and one F-16 belonging to the Pakistan Air Force after Pakistan attempted to assault several areas in Jammu and Punjab amid rising tensions between the two countries.

Pakistan attempted to target many Indian areas earlier on Thursday, but the intruding drones were shot down by Indian air defense systems.

According to sources, India also destroyed Pakistan’s Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) inside the Punjab province, and it fell to their side.

A drone was shot down in Akhnoor, and drone attacks have also been stopped in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, and Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir.

In Poonch, two Kamikaze drones were also shot down.

Sources claim that the F-16 fighter jet was shot down by an Indian surface-to-air missile (SAM) close to Sargodha air base.

Interestingly, one of Pakistan’s primary fighter jets that it purchased from the US is the F-16. It is accompanied by another important fighter aircraft, the JF-17. Pakistan received the Lockheed Martin-built F-16 fighter jets in the late 1980s. Following India’s 2019 Balakot airstrikes, the Pakistan Air Force also made use of these aircraft.

India’s air defense systems reacted quickly to Pakistan’s earlier attempt at a missile strike in the Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan late on Thursday.

In order to intercept and eliminate any approaching threats, the region’s air defense systems have been fully activated. According to sources, over 70 missiles have been destroyed in midair, shielding ground targets from harm.

Pakistan launched simultaneous attacks on multiple Jammu targets, including the airport, in a significant escalation. On Thursday evening, rockets were launched from the other side of the International Border towards Jammu.

Fighter jets scrambled in response after one of the drones struck the Jammu Civil Airport. India successfully stopped the approaching rockets by turning on its air defense systems.

Late Thursday night, Pakistani troops also used unjustified shelling along the Line of Control in the districts of Kupwara, Baramulla, Poonch, Samba, and Uri in Jammu and Kashmir.

Over Jammu airport, Samba, RS Pura, Arnia, and the surrounding areas, the S-400 air defense system intercepted eight Pakistani missiles. Near Jammu University, two drones from Pakistan were shot down.

According to a statement from the Integrated Defence Staff, Pakistan uses drones and missiles to target military stations in Jammu and Kashmir, including Pathankot, Udhampur, and Jammu, which are close to the international boundary. No losses. #IndianArmedForces used both kinetic and non-kinetic methods to neutralize the threat in accordance with regular operating practice.

Less than 48 hours after India began Operation Sindoor, which targeted terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, Pakistan escalated its actions.
