Union Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated on Saturday that the electronics manufacturing industry has become a leading sector in India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary plans. Production has increased six times in the last 11 years, making it a Rs 11.5 lakh crore industry.

Speaking at a news conference about the recent GST reform here at the BJP headquarters, the minister said that the industry now employs over 25 lakh people and that exports of electronic products increased eightfold during that time.

“India’s electronics manufacturing industry has grown significantly during the past 11 years. The production of electronics has expanded six times, exports have climbed eight times, and the industry has grown to be worth Rs 11.5 lakh crore, employing 25 lakh people, according to the minister.

According to Vaishnaw, India has now begun producing all of the components required for an electronic device domestically.

“If we talk about a mobile phone, then every item of the phone – be it glass, cover, chip, printed circuit board (PCB) or camera module, has started being produced in the country,” said the minister.

He also mentioned the recent opening of a factory in Sohna, Haryana, where the smartphone’s battery will be produced.

According to the minister, 20 crore battery packs will be produced from a single factory, meeting the nation’s 50 crore battery needs.

He exhorted the populace to use as many Indian-made goods as possible. “India has to become self-sufficient, and everyone is enthusiastically embracing “Swadeshi.” It is also suggested that you all use more ‘Swadeshi’ products in your daily lives,” Vaishnaw said.

According to the minister, middle-class families have greatly benefited from PM Modi’s GST changes.

He said that prices would drop for a variety of household necessities, including power banks, microwaves, dishwashers, refrigerators, and televisions.

According to the minister, the tax burden on everything has decreased, including food, household goods, and daily necessities.
