As part of the ‘Samudra se Samriddhi’ plan, the Prime Minister will lay the groundwork and launch a number of development projects totaling over Rs 34,200 crore.

The maritime industry is a primary focus of the event, as PM Modi launches and inaugurates projects totaling over Rs 7,870 crore. These projects are important port infrastructure upgrades in India. Highlights include the foundation stone being laid for a new container terminal at Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port in Kolkata and the opening of the Mumbai International Cruise Terminal at Indira Dock.

The Tuna Tekra Multi-Cargo Terminal in Gujarat, a new cargo berth and container handling facilities at Paradip Port (Odisha), modernization projects at Kamarajar Port (Ennore, Tamil Nadu), Chennai Port, Car Nicobar Island, Deendayal Port (Kandla), and inland waterway facilities at Patna and Varanasi are examples of additional maritime developments.

In Gujarat alone, the prime minister will also reveal a sizable portfolio of projects totaling Rs 26,354 crore, with an emphasis on areas like urban transportation, port infrastructure, roads, healthcare, and renewable energy.

The HPLNG Regasification Terminal at Chhara Port, the Acrylics and Oxo Alcohol Project at the Gujarat IOCL Refinery, the 600 MW Green Shoe Initiative, and the 475 MW PM-KUSUM solar feeder for farmers are among the significant Gujarat-based projects that will be inaugurated. The Sir T. General Hospital in Bhavnagar and the Guru Govind Sinh Government Hospital in Jamnagar will lay the groundwork for future growth in the fields of healthcare and urban infrastructure. In order to improve connectivity and commerce routes within the state, PM Modi will also begin the process of four-laning 70 kilometers of national highways.

In order to strengthen public-private partnerships and speed up regional development, a number of Memorandums of Understanding will be signed between government agencies and business entities.
