Today, PM Modi will travel to Bihar and West Bengal to showcase development projects valued at more over Rs 12,000 crore

On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to travel to West Bengal and Bihar to inaugurate a number of development projects totaling more than Rs 12,000 crore.

Following a significant push for infrastructure development in both states, PM Modi will also speak at public events in Durgapur, West Bengal, and Motihari, Bihar.

In addition to increasing employment, rural livelihoods, and digital innovation, the projects, which total more than Rs 7,200 crore for Bihar and more than Rs 5,000 crore for Bengal, are intended to improve the region’s connectivity and overall infrastructure growth.

PM Modi will launch and lay the groundwork for initiatives in the fields of rail, roads, IT, fisheries, and rural development in Motihari. Four Amrit Bharat Express trains that connect Patna, Motihari, Darbhanga, and Malda Town to important northern towns like Delhi and Lucknow would be launched by him.

The installation of automatic signaling on the Samastipur-Bachhwara line and the Rs 580 crore doubling of the Darbhanga-Thalwara and Samastipur-Rambhadrapur sections are important railway projects in Bihar.

The Prime Minister will also lay the groundwork for Rs 4,080 crore worth of train infrastructure projects, such as the doubling of the Darbhanga-Narkatiaganj line and the construction of a Vande Bharat maintenance facility at Patliputra.

With a total expenditure of Rs 820 crore, PM Modi will begin the four-laning of the Ara bypass and the Parariya-Mohania segment of NH-319, enhancing access to the Delhi-Kolkata Golden Quadrilateral.

The Prime Minister will open an incubation center in Patna and a Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) facility in Darbhanga to support Bihar’s digital economy by increasing IT/ITES exports and start-ups.

He would introduce new fisheries infrastructure, such as hatcheries, aquaculture facilities, and fish feed mills, under the PM Matsya Sampada Yojana.

In order to strengthen the oil and gas infrastructure in the area, PM Modi will lay the cornerstone for the about Rs 1,950 crore Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd. (BPCL) City Gas Distribution (CGD) project in the West Bengal districts of Bankura and Purulia. In addition to providing CNG at retail locations, it will offer PNG connections to homes, businesses, and industrial clients.

Additionally, PM Modi will dedicate the 132-kilometer Durgapur to Kolkata segment of the Pradhan Mantri Urja Ganga (PMUG) Project, which includes the Durgapur-Haldia Natural Gas Pipeline and the Bokaro-Dhamra Pipeline.
