Monday marks the start of President Droupadi Murmu’s two-day journey to Gorakhpur, where she will attend the inaugural convocation ceremony of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
In an important move to support traditional medicine and holistic healthcare education in the state, she is set to open Uttar Pradesh’s first AYUSH University in Pipri, Bhathat, on July 1, according to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
At Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s invitation, President Murmu will be returning to Gorakhpur for the fourth time in the past seven years. The occasion also signifies the city’s increasing national significance as it is the second time in recent memory that a sitting president has visited AIIMS, a significant state university in Gorakhpur.
In order to make sure that everything was set up to the greatest standards, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath personally examined the 31-kilometer route that the President would travel from the capital to Pipri.
Additionally, he has ordered that the President be served specially prepared meals that represent her dignity and grandeur at the Gorakhnath Temple, where she is due to offer prayers.
The level of security has been considerably increased. According to SP (City) Abhinav Tyagi, OPD services would not be available on the AIIMS campus or auditorium on June 30.
A three-tiered security system is in place, and a 5-kilometer radius around the Circuit House has been designated as a no-fly zone.
CM Yogi laid the cornerstone for AIIMS Gorakhpur’s 500-bed “Powergrid Vishram Sadan” earlier in April. The rest home is being built for Rs 44 crore as part of Power Grid Corporation of India’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) program with the goal of assisting patients and their families.
