The BJP praised the move as an indication of India’s rising prominence on the international scene when Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney formally invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to join the next G7 Summit in Kananaskis, Alberta, later this month.

Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, a senior BJP politician and former Union Minister, emphasized how Prime Minister Modi has led India’s worldwide influence to increase dramatically over the last ten years.

“I think that India’s stature and impact on the international scene have increased dramatically during the past 11 years under Narendra Modi ji. Those who earlier attempted to damage India’s standing internationally are now extinct. Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Naqvi stated, “There were rumors that an invitation would arrive or not, so here it is, right before you.”

“It’s not just the Prime Minister of Canada today; the whole world wants to work with PM Modi and with India,” senior BJP leader Dilip Ghosh continued, echoing similar sentiments. Why? due to the fact that India has emerged as a significant strategic force and the fourth-largest economy. India has shown the strength of its military and the caliber of its defense systems by taking decisive action against Pakistan.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney formally called Prime Minister Modi on Friday to extend an invitation to the G7 Leaders’ Summit.

India has once again been invited as an Outreach Country, despite not being a permanent member of the G7, in acknowledgment of its expanding geopolitical and economic clout.

The G7 is celebrating its 50th edition with this year’s summit. PM Modi attended the G7 Summit in Apulia, Italy, last year for the fifth time in a row, and India was invited for the eleventh time altogether.

Together with the European Union, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States make up the G7. India’s frequent participation in these high-level talks indicates that it is becoming more and more influential in determining international policy regarding technology, the economy, security, and climate.
