After defeating the Netherlands 2-0 in the T20I series, Bangladesh T20I captain Litton Kumar Das stated his team is ready for the forthcoming Asia Cup, which will start in the United Arab Emirates on September 9.
In addition, it was Bangladesh’s third straight T20I series victory following wins over Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Bangladesh held a fitness camp in Dhaka and a skill-based camp in Sylhet prior to their match against the Netherlands.
“I think we’re ready for the Asia Cup. I stated right away that the camp we conducted was not exclusive to this series. Additionally, it was to ensure that we were prepared for the upcoming Asia Cup series.”
I thought everything was going well overall. Good cricket was played by whoever had the opportunity to play. Saifuddin alone was powerless. Everybody else had the chance to participate in at least one game.
“Practice is crucial, in my opinion, but what matters most is how well you perform in games. Cricbuzz cited Litton on Thursday as saying, “Playing matches will improve you, increase your game sense.”
He also gave Sylhet high marks for preparation. “This is the best camp I’ve ever seen. Mirpur is also a good place to get fit, but the type of exercise we were looking for was only available in Sylhet. Therefore, I believe that this trip was excellent for us overall.
Litton said the impressive top-order play was encouraging for the Asia Cup. “Obviously, it would have been preferable if more batters had been given an opportunity, but the fact that we won the first two games handily is what matters most. That bodes well for a major event.
“The effectiveness of the top order is demonstrated by the fact that not all of our batters needed to bat. Everyone will eventually have to bat in the Asia Cup, which is okay, but for now, it indicates that we’re doing well,” he continued.
On September 11, Bangladesh will play Hong Kong in the opening match of the 2025 Men’s T20 Asia Cup at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
