Champions Trophy: Cricket fraternity celebrates India’s ‘VIRAT’ victory against Australia

India successfully completed the highest-ever run chase against Australia in ICC knockouts, advancing to their fifth Champions Trophy final in Dubai on Tuesday. The team maintained its faultless performance and achieved a win that the country should be proud of. Virat Kohli was once again the star of the show, scoring 84 runs to help his team win by four wickets.

Despite losing to Australia in the finals of the 2023 ODI World Cup in Ahmedabad and the World Test Championships in 2022, Indian fans and retired cricketers alike celebrated the triumph and turned to social media to congratulate the team.

Mohammed Shami bowled Australia out for 264, taking important wickets of opener Cooper Connolly and Steve Smith before dismissing Nathan Ellis to complete the batting order.

Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar praised India’s ‘clinical’ performance and wished the team success in the forthcoming final on March 9. “Team India demonstrated clinical performance. @MdShami11 established the tone early, and our hitters waited patiently. @imVkohli’s shot stood out. “All the best for the final,” Tendulkar wrote.

The bowlers did their jobs, with @MdShami11 leading from the front and keeping the Aussies in check. @imVkohli and @ShreyasIyer15 worked well together to handle the pressure, and @klrahul and @hardikpandya7 eventually won the game! Sachin’s famed opening partner, Virender Sehwag, congratulated ‘King’ Kohli and the Indian side on reaching their third ICC final in 15 months. “The hour comes, and so does the man. The King shines, as we make our third ICC World Cup final in 15 months. “Simply amazing,” wrote Sehwag.

Jasprit Bumrah, India’s best bowler who will miss the competition due to a back injury, had a one-word comment for his teammates. “Unstoppable, @BCCI,” he wrote.

Former England captain Michael Vaughan feels India’s recent success is due to their squad depth, which poses a challenge for other countries in white-ball cricket.

“The problem for the rest of the world in white-ball cricket is that India has another team that can play and is equally as good…”Despite a large number of absent players, the Australians made an impressive effort.This is India’s prize for me.
