During a recent concentrated training session at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru, veteran batsman KL Rahul and India ODI skipper Rohit Sharma stepped up their preparations for the forthcoming cricket season.
In order to improve their preparedness for a busy cricket season, the senior batting pair participated in a combination of skills and strength training sessions, according to the video released by the BCCI.
“KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma trained at the BCCI Centre of Excellence, concentrating on strength and skill development, in order to get ready for the impending missions. During their time there, both players mimicked the various conditions offered at the CoE,” the BCCI stated on Sunday on social media.
Rahul will play in India A’s second multi-day match against Australia A, which will begin on September 23 at Lucknow’s BRSABV Ekana Stadium. Rahul and Mohammed Siraj, a pacer, are also part of the team for this game.
In the England Test series, Rahul finished as the third-highest run-scorer with 532 runs at an average of 53, including two hundreds and two fifties. This will be his first professional cricket match since then.
In the two-match Test series against the West Indies, which will take place in Ahmedabad from October 2–6 and New Delhi from October 10–14, Rahul is anticipated to bat first with left-handed opener Yashasvi Jaiswal. The current ICC World Test Championship cycle will include both games.
In the meantime, Rohit is anticipated to lead India in the One-Day International portion of their white-ball tour to Australia. Adelaide Oval and Sydney Cricket Ground will host matches on October 23 and 25, respectively, after the ODI series opening at Perth Stadium on October 19.
