India makes history as the young Tigers win their sixth consecutive Under-19 World Cup

In a thrilling match, the Indian Under-19 cricket team defeated England to win the World Cup trophy, reaffirming their supremacy in the world. India won the coveted trophy for a record-breaking sixth time in Harare with a commanding 100-run victory in a show of brilliance and composure.

Batting at High Voltage: Suryavanshi’s Storm

India scored a massive 411/9 in their 50 overs after winning the toss and choosing to bat. With his iconic knock, opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi was the innings’ main character. With 175 runs off just 80 balls, 15 boundaries, and 15 soaring sixes, Suryavanshi destroyed the English attack.

The middle order’s crucial contributions made sure that India maintained the momentum:

Captain Ayush Mhatre: 53 runs (a solid half-century)

WK’s Abhigyan Kundu: 40 runs

Kanishk Chauhan: late flourish, 37* off 20 balls

The Spirited Chase in England

An bold start was made by England as they chased a mountain of 412 runs. Indian bowlers hit at regular intervals to keep the necessary rate up, despite a strong start from Ben Dawkins (66) and Ben Mayes (45).

At 177/7, England appeared to be in trouble, but Caleb Falconer made the match spectacular. Falconer threatened a miracle with an incredible 115 off 67 balls (9 fours, 7 sixes). But even after a brief collaboration with James Minto (28), the goal was too high. In 40.2 overs, England was ultimately knocked out for 311.

The Heroes of Bowling

Under pressure, India’s bowling unit maintained its composure:

RS Ambrush, the best bowler, took three wickets.

Deepesh Devendran and Kanishk Chauhan each took two wickets.
