As the tournament’s restart to finish its business end approaches, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has instructed all ten IPL teams to gather by Tuesday.

Cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan have led to the BCCI suspending the IPL 2025 for a week on Friday. This comes after the Punjab Kings vs. Delhi Capitals match in Dharamshala was halted due to airstrikes and blackouts in neighboring areas including Jammu and Pathankot.

IPL 2025 had played 58 games at the time of suspension, with 12 league stage games and playoffs left. Cricket players from every franchise and the vast bulk of the support staff departed for their home countries as soon as the suspension was announced.

“Yes, we have been informed that our team’s players and support personnel will be assembled on Tuesday. We do not yet know where we must assemble. However, as of right now, the BCCI has sent us a message stating that we need begin the process of building the team immediately and have everyone by Tuesday. On the condition of anonymity, a senior franchise executive told IANS on Sunday, “We will also now start the process of getting overseas players back to India as soon as possible.”

IANS is aware that, in contrast to their coaching counterparts, such as Mike Hussey (batting coach, Chennai Super Kings) and Justin Langer (head coach, Lucknow Super Giants), Ricky Ponting and Brad Haddin, the head coach and assistant coach of the Punjab Kings (PBKS), are still in India and did not return to Australia.

The India ‘A’ team must go for a three-match tour of England on May 25, hence the BCCI wants to finish all of the remaining IPL matches before then, according to a prior report from this agency on Saturday. According to the original IPL schedule, the final will take place in Kolkata’s Eden Gardens on May 25.

It is thought that the IPL governing council will make the ultimate decision about the dates and locations for the updated schedule following the government’s anticipated advice, particularly in light of Saturday night’s ceasefire violation. The India Test team will go to England for a five-match Test series beginning on June 20 in Headingley following the conclusion of the IPL.
