Indian fans took to social media on Sunday night to celebrate their third Champions Trophy championship, which came after a four-wicket win over New Zealand in the final at the Dubai International Stadium.

Following a brisk start by skipper Rohit Sharma, India were placed in trouble by the dismissals of Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli. With the Kiwi spinners working their magic and putting pressure on the Indian hitters, Rohit quickly followed his deputy to the pavilion. Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel’s patient 61-run stand helped India recover before both fell soon after. Hardik Pandya’s clutch power-hitting and K.L. Rahul’s ability to rotate the strike and find gaps led India to a historic triumph.

“CHAMPIONS TROPHY 2025: INDIA REIGNS SUPREME!” Captain Rohit Sharma leads from the front with a beautiful 76 to guide India to a stunning victory! The Men in Blue shone brightly, lifting the trophy in style! INDIA – THE UNDISPUTED CHAMPIONS!,” wrote one user on X.

Congratulations, Team India! This is what a real victory looks like. After so much effort, winning offers a sense of accomplishment. Continue to work hard and win prizes. “This is a fantastic win—great teamwork!” remarked another person.

Rohit’s fans breathed a sigh of relief when the Indian captain achieved his maiden half-century of the competition. Despite calls for Rohit’s retirement, citing fitness difficulties, fans praised ‘The Hitman’ for his 76-run contribution.

“They say he’s unfit. They questioned him. The’most unhealthy captain’ brings 1.4 billion ambitions to the big stage! “#RohitSharma lets his bat do the talking,” stated the tweet from the Indian cricket team’s handle on X.

Iyer finished the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy as the second-highest run-scorer, with 241 runs in five matches, including a key knock of 48 runs.

Iyer may have missed out on a well-deserved half-century, but he was one of the most reliable players on the club.

Fans also appreciated his significant achievements during the event.

“Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer are the impact players.” Rohit’s ODI team earned a trophy, and Shreyas is pushing his game and stature to new heights after being dropped from the contract list not long ago. KL Rahul deserves better from us, both in the semifinals and in the big final,” according to a post on X.
