On Thursday, Union IT and Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will introduce NITI Aayog’s “NITI For States” platform in the nation’s capital, with the goal of advancing the digital transformation of governance.
A cross-sectoral knowledge platform called “NITI For States” aims to develop into a Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) for legislation and sound governance.
The “Viksit Bharat Strategy Room” at NITI Aayog, which will allow for rich visualization and interaction with insights, information, and knowledge to “enable effective in-person decision-making,” will also be opened by the IT Minister.
By providing government officials with comprehensive, contextually relevant, and actionable knowledge and insights, the “NITI For States” platform will aid in the digital transformation of governance and improve the caliber of decision-making.
According to a release from NITI Aayog, the platform’s noteworthy features include a multi-sectoral live repository with 7,500 best practices, 5,000 policy documents, over 900 datasets, 1,400 data profiles, and 350 NITI publications.
Ten industries, including agriculture, education, energy, health, livelihoods and skill development, manufacturing, MSME, tourism, urban areas, water resources, and WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene), are covered by the knowledge items on the platform, which are divided under two overarching themes: gender and climate change.
According to NITI Aayog, the platform will also assist modern level functionaries such as block-level and district-collector functionaries by providing them with access to cutting-edge best practices from across different States and UTs.
