PM Modi praises Lord Buddha’s message of peace and wishes everyone a happy Buddha Purnima

In his greetings to the populace on Buddha Purnima Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized that the teachings and life of Lord Buddha will always lead the world to compassion and peace.

Buddhists around the world celebrate Buddha Purnima, also called Vesak or Buddha Jayanti, as a major spiritual day. It commemorates Gautama Buddha’s birth, enlightenment, and Mahaparinirvana (death). The day is devoted to meditation, tranquility, and introspection and is observed on the full moon day of the Hindu month of Vaisakh.

PM Modi posted a message on X that read, “Happy Buddha Purnima to all of our compatriots. Humanity has been guided by the teachings of Lord Buddha, which are founded on the ideas of equality, truth, and peace. His life of penance and sacrifice will always encourage compassion and harmony in the global society.

Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, also used social media to send his condolences.

“To all, a happy Buddha Purnima. Lord Buddha’s life is the culmination of his words, deeds, and thoughts. He taught humanity equality and unity by pursuing the path of wisdom, compassion, and non-violence. In an X post, he wrote, “I ask Lord Buddha for everyone’s joy and tranquility.

In addition, Union Minister J.P. Nadda expressed his sincere congratulations and best wishes to all of his fellow citizens on Buddha Purnima. The way of religion, compassion, non-violence, and peace was demonstrated to human society by Lord Buddha.

“His great ascetic life of awakening the ‘self’ and dedicating himself in the service of others and his teachings will continue to inspire all of us forever,” he said.

“On the auspicious occasion of Buddha Purnima, I bow to Mahatma Buddha, who is the symbol of peace, wisdom, and compassion,” wrote Defense Minister Rajnath Singh in a message posted on X. His ageless lessons still lead people to self-realization, harmony, and the straight and narrow.

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, also congratulated the populace on the milestone and encouraged them to find motivation in the teachings of Lord Buddha.

Best wishes and heartfelt congratulations to all state residents on this auspicious ‘Buddha Purnima’! “Self-realization and selfless service are inspired by the life of Lord Buddha,” he remarked.

“Let us all pledge to build a harmonious and peaceful society by following the path of meditation, compassion and co-existence of Lord Buddha,” Yogi said.
