Security personnel are led by Amit Shah to guarantee a smooth Amarnath Yatra and zero tolerance for terrorism

All security services have been instructed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah to maintain the highest level of vigilance and alertness during the upcoming Amarnath Yatra in order to guarantee its complete peace.

After arriving late Thursday night, Amit Shah convened a security assessment meeting at the Raj Bhawan right away.

Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, J&K Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, DGP Nalin Prabhat, and other senior representatives from the MHA, Army, paramilitary forces, Jammu and Kashmir Police, civil administration, and intelligence agencies from the Center and the UT convened the high-level security review meeting.

The security plans and readiness for the forthcoming Amarnath Yatra were reviewed by the Union Home Minister.

He gave the order to remain extremely vigilant and make sure the Yatra was completed peacefully. According to him, every effort will be made by the Central and UT authorities to provide the pilgrims with all the amenities they require.

On Friday, the Home Minister would travel to the Poonch border district to speak to the residents who were impacted by Pakistan’s firing. In addition, he will visit damaged houses of worship, deliver appointment letters to the relatives of those murdered in the shelling, and speak to the BSF personnel at their Unit Headquarters in Khanetar.

In addition to zero tolerance for terrorism and infiltration, the conference on Thursday was centered on security and other preparations for the Amarnath Yatra. As the Union Home Minister received an update from police and security agencies, the most recent security measures following the April 22 Pahalgam terror assault were thoroughly discussed.

According to sources, the home minister ordered security forces to make sure terrorists, including those responsible for the Pahalgam massacres, be apprehended as soon as possible.

Additionally, a plan has been developed to intensify search efforts against the terrorists, encompassing the upper reaches of the Jammu region. The highlands of Kathua, Udhampur, Doda, Kishtwar, Rajouri, and Poonch have been home to terrorists, primarily Pakistanis. Security personnel have made a number of interactions with terrorists in these regions during the last few months.

According to sources, the Union home minister also talked about the different amenities that the civil government is providing for the pilgrims.

The Amarnath Yatra 2025 will last for 38 days, starting on July 3 and ending on August 9.
