On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially open 184 brand-new Type-VII multi-story apartments for Members of Parliament (MPs) in New Delhi’s Baba Kharak Singh (BKS) Marg.

The event will start at 9:00 a.m. and be attended by Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, and Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.

The Prime Minister will also plant a Sindoor (vermilion) seedling at the residence as part of the inauguration ceremony. In order to show his appreciation for their contributions, he would engage with the laborers (Shramjeevis) who were instrumental in building the residential complex. Prime Minister Modi will thereafter give a keynote speech.

The Prime Minister’s Office claims that each of the recently built apartments has roughly 5,000 square feet of carpet space. MPs may conveniently perform their public obligations from their homes because to the roomy design, which accommodates both official and residential uses.

The complex offers people a self-sufficient environment by having spaces set aside for workplaces, staff housing, and a community center.

All of the structures are earthquake-resistant and have modern structural safety features thanks to the infrastructure’s design, which complies with current standards.

To ensure the safety of all residents, a thorough and reliable security system has been incorporated into the complex in addition to structural considerations. The layout and amenities are intended to accommodate the changing needs of public servants while providing a contemporary and cozy living environment.

The PMO claims that the premises are “Divyang-friendly” as well, demonstrating a “commitment to inclusive design”.

The focus has been on vertical housing to maximize land usage and lower maintenance costs due to the scarcity of available land.
