On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to West Bengal and Bihar to launch and lay the groundwork for more than Rs 18,200 crore in development projects that will improve urban development, infrastructure, power, railroads, connectivity, and health.

At a significant event in Gaya, Bihar, PM Modi will kick off his visit by launching and laying the groundwork for projects worth over Rs 13,000 crore.

In an effort to improve railway connectivity, facilitate passenger travel, and encourage religious tourism in the area, the prime minister will officially open two important trains: the Buddhist Circuit Train between Vaishali and Koderma and the Amrit Bharat Express between Gaya and Delhi.

He will also deliver keys to Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) recipients, demonstrating the government’s continued commitment to universal access to affordable homes.

PM Modi will open the eagerly anticipated Aunta–Simaria six-lane bridge across the Ganga River in Begusarai district in a historic step to improve infrastructure. The Rs 1,870 crore project consists of a 1.86 km six-lane bridge built parallel to the old Rajendra Setu and an 8.15 km section on NH-31.

The bridge will reduce heavy truck detours by more than 100 kilometers and greatly increase communication between Mokama (in the Patna district) and Begusarai.

When PM Modi arrives in Kolkata later that day, he will officially open the freshly built metro lines. He will personally take a metro journey from Jessore Road Metro Station to Jai Hind Biman Bandar and back at approximately 4:15 p.m.

In order to facilitate transit and pedestrian traffic, PM Modi will also open a new tunnel at the Howrah Metro Station.

The Prime Minister will also lay the cornerstone for the Rs 1,200 crore, six-lane elevated Kona Expressway in Howrah, which would improve connectivity between Howrah, Kolkata, and the nearby rural areas.
