Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “love for Punjab can be gauged from the fact that even as he lost the election from Ludhiana, he was made the Union Minister,” Union Minister of State Ravneet Singh Bittu said on Sunday, urging the people of Ludhiana West to vote for “Viksit Bharat, Viksit Punjab, Viksit Ludhiana, Viksit West.”
“The development of the entire country is the sole goal of the BJP government at the center. Ludhiana is a good place for Punjab to start in this regard. Take a look at how much PM Modi loves Punjab. He appointed me a Union Minister despite the fact that I lost last year’s Ludhiana Lok Sabha election. He took this action because he desired a Punjabi member of his Cabinet who could contribute to the advancement of Punjab. His cabinet had included Sikhs like Hardeep Singh Puri, but he preferred a Punjabi. Union Minister Bittu urged Ludhiana residents who wish to see Ludhiana developed to support BJP candidate Jiwan Gupta.
“In addition to making me a minister, he has also given me a very significant portfolio, such as the railways. We recently opened the Chenab Bridge in the border state of Jammu and Kashmir, which cost Rs 43,000 crore. Another border state that merits such massive developments is Punjab. Having the BJP in power in Punjab is the only way to obtain them. If not, other states have already surpassed us in the race,” he stated.
Union Minister Bittu questioned the Aam Aadmi Party’s assertions of maintaining simplicity by posing the question of who was paying Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s enormous hotel expenses in Ludhiana when he was campaigning for the next by-election.
Additionally, he asserted that CM Mann had taken up an entire hotel floor.
According to him, former chief ministers and even prime ministers who traveled to Ludhiana used to stay in Punjab Agricultural University’s Circuit House or Sutton House.
Union Minister Bittu questioned, “Now that the model election code of conduct is in effect, who will pay the hotel bills?”
Sanjeev Arora, an AAP candidate, was criticized by the Union Minister for allegedly failing to accurately recall the name of martyr Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha at an occasion.
“If someone does not even know the names of our martyrs, how can we trust him to uphold and protect the ideals they stood for,” remarked the man.
Voters will cast ballots in the Ludhiana West Assembly by-election on June 19 and the results will be tallied on June 23.
