The SA20 Season 4 Final will take place in Cape Town’s Newlands Cricket Ground. The T20 League of South Africa’s major playoff games will be held at Kingsmead, Centurion, and the Wanderers beginning on December 26.
When the two top teams in the league square off in Qualifier 1 on January 21, Durban will host a Playoff match for the first time in SA20 history, providing east coast supporters with another chance to enjoy amazing cricket and entertainment.
Two crucial Playoff games will take place in the Highveld: the Wanderers will host the second finalist’s matchup with Qualifier 2 on January 23 and Centurion will set the scenario for the Eliminator on January 22.
The three consecutive finals sold out in record time, and all SA20 champions were crowned in front of full houses. Similar excitement is anticipated for the box office tickets, according to SA20 League Commissioner Graeme Smith.
League Commissioner Graeme Smith stated, “SA20 Season 4 is looking to be an extremely exciting summer of cricket, starting on Boxing Day and continuing through the holiday period.” “The Final is on a Sunday, which creates an amazing afternoon with fantastic weather, entertainment, and a vibrant environment to celebrate our Season 4 Champions. Last year, Newlands sold out all five matches at the venue.
“We’re hopeful that the first-ever playoffs in Durban will thrill the spectators, especially since Qualifier 1 will feature the two top teams in the league. On Thursday and Friday nights, we can’t wait to return to Centurion and Wanderers. Since the matches are one day apart, it is usually important to have the venues adjacent to one another.
“Getting the playoff match scheduling done and done well is always a fun task for us. Particularly following a thrilling Group Match round that concludes two days before to the opening Playoff game. “I am excited to see who will be competing,” he remarked.
The final piece of the Season 4 scheduling puzzle has been revealed: the locations for the Final and Playoff matches. This gives supporters nationwide plenty of time to finalize their plans for the Christmas season to attend SA20 matches.
“Our success over the last three seasons has been largely due to the fans,” Smith continued. “I believe there will be a lot of interest nationwide because the League takes place during most of the holiday season.”
The six organizations will finalize their 19-player squads for the Season 4 Player Auction on September 9th, marking the next significant milestone. With a maximum of USD 7.4 million to be spent, the event promises high-stakes bidding and entertainment, with both foreign players and Proteas stars being up for grabs.
