Following the conclusion of his successful three-nation tour, PM Modi leaves for New Delhi

A major turning point in the two nations’ bilateral relations was reached on Thursday as Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for New Delhi following a successful trip to Croatia, the final stop of the three-nation tour.

It was the first time an Indian prime minister had visited a European country, first visiting Cyprus, then Canada, where he attended the G7 Summit, and finally Croatia.

Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal posted on social media platform X, saying: “PM @narendramodi has emplaned for New Delhi, after a successful three nation visit to Cyprus, Canada, and Croatia.”

The Croatian government and people welcomed PM Modi with open arms during his visit.

He conveyed his appreciation for the kind welcome and emphasized the importance of the visit in marking the beginning of a new phase in the friendship and wide collaboration between Croatia and India.

“Thank you to the Croatian people and government for the cordial welcome during this very historic visit. PM Modi wrote on X, “This visit marks the beginning of a new chapter in our mutual journey of friendship and wide cooperation.

He said the visit was a major turning point in the two countries’ relationship and that several critical choices to improve India-Croatia relations were made.

He highlighted highlights of a ceremonial welcome in the Croatian capital city of Zagreb on Wednesday, as well as discussions with his Croatian counterpart Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic. His comments followed a day of high-level meetings.

PM Modi provided a number of updates on his engagements throughout the tour on the social media site X.

He stated, “Grateful to my friend, Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic for the special gesture of showing me the city centre of the historical and culturally rich city of Zagreb.”

Additionally, he posted tidbits of information on the formal welcome he received in Zagreb, Croatia, adding, “Pictures from the ceremonial welcome in Zagreb, Croatia.”

PM Modi wrote, “Held fruitful talks with my friend, Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic in Zagreb,” after his meeting with the Croatian leader. We discussed a wide range of topics in an effort to strengthen the relationship between India and Croatia. We will be collaborating closely in a number of areas, including technology, renewable energy, agriculture, IT, medicines, defense and security, and more. It will also be very helpful to have synergies in fields like semiconductors, shipbuilding, communication, and more.

India and Croatia will advance collaboration in a number of fields, including information technology, agriculture, and medicines, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement on Wednesday.

For long-term cooperation in the defense industry, he noted, a Defense Cooperation Plan would also be developed.

Following their delegation-level discussions, PM Modi remarked in a joint press release with Croatian PM Andrej Plenkovic that the two nations have emphasized cooperation and cooperative research between their academic institutions and that India will share its space experience with Croatia.

In the final phase of his three-nation tour, PM Modi arrived in Croatia earlier in the day.

He conveyed his profound appreciation to the Croatian Prime Minister and the Croatian government for their warm reception, enthusiasm, and affection.

“I have had the wonderful fortune to be the first Indian prime minister to visit Croatia. Democracy, the rule of law, pluralism, and excellence are among the principles that bind Croatia and India together. “It is a fortunate coincidence that the people of Croatia and India gave Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic the chance to serve for the third consecutive term last year,” he remarked.

When the Prime Minister first arrived in Croatia, he was given a formal greeting.
