On Wednesday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will celebrate the Gujarati New Year by holding festivities at his Ahmedabad home.
He will greet guests at the Royal Crescent Bungalows in Ahmedabad between 9 and 10.30 a.m., accompanied by customary customs.
To lend a personal touch to the celebrations, Shah will be joined by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in public Diwali celebrations, which also happen to be the Home Minister’s birthday.
One of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s closest advisers and a crucial strategist for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Shah was born in 1964 and has been instrumental in the party’s ascent across the country.
Throughout Gujarat and India, party workers and supporters greet him on his birthday with cultural events, blood donation drives, and social service projects.
On the other hand, the Gujarati New Year, also called Bestu Varas, is observed in Gujarat one day following Diwali and signifies the start of the state’s customary Vikram Samvat cycle.
The day represents rebirth, wealth, and fresh starts.
Shah is expected to inaugurate the recently built MLA quarters in Sector-17, Gandhinagar, on October 23 while he is there.
The building, which was constructed at a cost of Rs 220 crore, replaces the former legislators’ home complex and has 216 air-conditioned 4BHK apartments spread across 12 towers that are nine stories high.
The project covers more than 28,000 square meters and started in 2021.
A kitchen, dining area, waiting room, office space, two master bedrooms, two more rooms, and a separate staff room are all included in each residence. In addition, the property has a community center, an auditorium, a fitness club, a restaurant, landscaped gardens, and areas for senior and kid-friendly leisure.
The event, which takes place on Bhai Bij, the last day of Diwali celebrations, which represents rebirth and brotherhood, has complex security and administrative preparations in place, according to officials.
