The AICC stated on Thursday that the Political Affairs Committee has been enlarged by six members and that a new Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee has been formed, with 13 vice presidents and 58 general secretaries.
In addition to three former MLAs, Pandalom Sudhakaran, A.K. Mani, and C.P. Mohammed, MPs Rajmohan Unnithan, V. K. Sreekandan, and Dean Kuriakosen have been inducted into the Political Affairs Committee.
The Congress president endorsed the decision, which K. C. Venugopal subsequently announced in a press statement.
Hibi Eden, Palode Ravi, V. T. Balram, V.P. Sajindran, Mathew Kuzhalnadan, D. Sugathan, Ramya Haridas, M. Liju, A.A. Shukkoor, M. Vincent, Roy K. Paulose, Jaison Joseph, and T. Sarathchandra Prasad are the new vice presidents. The appointment of Sandeep Warrier as general secretary is noteworthy; he left the BJP during the Palakkad by-election last year.
The organization’s general secretary, M. Liju, has been promoted to vice president.
Palode Ravi, the former president of Thiruvananthapuram DCC, has been named vice president as well.
Among the recent hires is D. Sugathan, who is well-known for being close to Vellappally Natesan.
The KPCC treasurer will be V.A. Narayanan.
The AICC leadership clarified long-standing organizational decisions by releasing the list without naming secretaries.
In the meantime, G.S. Babu, G. Subodhanan, and Maryapuram Sreekumar have been fired.
The vice president and head of the Thiruvananthapuram DCC, N. Shaktan, has also been fired.
Considered a significant organizational overhaul, the action is anticipated to fortify the state unit in anticipation of the assembly elections scheduled for April or May of next year and the soon-to-be-announced local body elections.
Since the Keralan party has long been controlled by faction leaders, it has become customary to appoint a committee over time, with each faction receiving sufficient participation.
