On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak at the second WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine’s closing ceremony.

The three-day event, which is being hosted at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, highlights India’s developing leadership and innovative efforts in creating an agenda for traditional medicine that is people-centered, science-based, and global.

The PMO stated on Thursday that “Prime Minister Modi has consistently emphasized mainstreaming traditional medicine and the Indian Knowledge System through research, standardization, and global collaboration.”

My Ayush Integrated Services platform (MAISP), a master digital platform for the Ayush industry, is one of the historic Ayush projects that the Prime Minister will introduce throughout the program. Additionally, he will introduce the Ayush Mark, which is intended to serve as a worldwide standard for the caliber of Ayush goods and services.

Additionally, PM Modi is anticipated to publish the book “From Roots to Global Reach: 11 Years of Transformation in Ayush” and the WHO technical report on yoga training.

He will also issue a commemorative postal stamp on ashwagandha, signifying the worldwide appeal of India’s traditional medical legacy.

In recognition of their unwavering commitment to yoga and its worldwide promotion, the PM will congratulate the winners of the Prime Minister’s Awards for Outstanding Contribution to the Promotion and Development of Yoga for the years 2021–2025.

The honors reinforce yoga’s status as a timeless discipline for harmony, balance, and well-being, helping to create a stronger and healthier New India.

The Prime Minister will also visit the Traditional medical Discovery Space, an exhibition that highlights the richness, diversity, and current applicability of traditional medical knowledge systems from India and around the globe.

The World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Ayush are working together to organize the Summit, which will take place from December 17 to 19. “Restoring balance: The science and practice of health and well-being” is the theme.

Global leaders, politicians, scientists, practitioners, Indigenous knowledge holders, and representatives of civil society engaged in intense discussions during the summit about promoting fair, sustainable, and evidence-based health systems.
