In Thursday’s second ODI at the Adelaide Oval, Australia’s captain Mitchell Marsh won the toss and chose to bowl first against India, adding Alex Carey and Xavier Bartlett to their starting eleven.
Australia won the rain-affected first ODI in Perth last Sunday by seven wickets, taking a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
Additionally, Australia replaced Matthew Kuhnemann with leg-spinner Adam Zampa, which Marsh neglected to mention at toss time.
“The way we persevered was incredibly pleasing in spite of the terrible weather in Perth. Many good things happened last year. Among the nation’s top pitchers this season. Everyone enjoys playing here.
“We always have incredible attendance, and I hope both teams will perform well for today’s large audience. It’s a fantastic opportunity to win a series in game two whenever you get the chance. I’m excited about it since we have a lot of young guys,” he remarked.
Shubman Gill, the captain of India, affirmed that his starting lineup had not changed. “The surface appears to be good. The surface has been covered for a few days, so we would have bowled as well. We’re glad to bat first, but we’re originally anticipating a little bit. “Hopefully there won’t be any stoppages and the weather is nice today,” he remarked.
The Adelaide Oval is expected to provide a fair game between bat and ball, according to Parthiv Patel and Shane Watson’s pitch report. They also mentioned that the pitch was treated with UV light overnight to remove moisture.
“We always anticipate a great pitch and cricket surface here. The top of the surface has a very small amount of moisture. However, the bat-ball match at Adelaide Oval is usually exciting, and today won’t be any different,” they stated.
