Early on Friday morning, Union Home Minister Amit Shah started his tour to Gujarat on a spiritual note by taking part in the Mangala Aarti at the revered Shri Jagannathji Temple in Jamalpur, Ahmedabad.

The visit takes place during the auspicious Shri Jagannath Rath Yatra, a significant religious festival that attracts thousands of devotees each year.

HM Shah arrived at the temple at 3:15 a.m., participated in the religious ceremonies, and prayed to Mahaprabhu Jagannath. “Taking part in the Mangla Aarti at Shri Jagannath Temple, Ahmedabad, on the holy occasion of Rath Yatra is in itself a divine and extraordinary experience,” he said on social media platform X, sharing his experience. I participated in Mahaprabhu’s Mangla Aarti today and prayed. I pray that Mahaprabhu will keep benefitting everyone.

One of the most cherished occasions in Gujarat’s cultural and religious calendar is the Rath Yatra, which entails a magnificent procession of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra across the city.

In Ahmedabad, extensive security measures have been implemented to guarantee the yatra’s seamless execution.

At 3:30 p.m., the Union Home Minister is expected to visit Gandhinagar’s Information and Library Network (INFLIBNET) Center. He will serve as the chair of a review meeting that will concentrate on the growth and digitization of libraries, which are essential to bolstering the nation’s infrastructure for research and education.

Shah will then go to Circuit House, Sector-20, Gandhinagar, for the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DDCMC) meeting at 4:15 p.m.

The purpose of the gathering is to evaluate how well central government programs are being implemented and to improve district-level officials’ coordination for effective governance.
