On June 2, the day of the state’s establishment, the Telangana administration will introduce the “Indiramma Jeevitha Bima” (Life Insurance) program throughout the entire state.

Mallu Bhatti Vikarmarka, the deputy chief minister, described it as a historic plan on Sunday. On the day of Telangana formation, he remarked, the people would receive this as a gift.

The Deputy Chief Minister stated in a post on X that the goal of this people-centric government is to offer insurance coverage of Rs 5 lakh to 1.15 crore families throughout the state, overcoming caste and religious boundaries and making no discrimination between the rich and the poor.

The government would allot solar power plants and raise interest-free loans for women’s self-help groups to a total of Rs 1 lakh crore in order to empower women as entrepreneurs, according to Vikaramarka, the minister of finance and energy.

This administration is advancing by providing the advantages of welfare to every impoverished household through programs like the building of “Indiramma” homes, the distribution of good rice, and the provision of 200 units of free electricity under the “Gruha Jyothi” plan. He stated, “We are guiding Telangana along the path of progress with welfare as our guiding principle and by keeping every promise made.”

During its meeting on Saturday, the State Cabinet approved the state’s second phase of “Indiramma” dwellings. The building of Indiramma dwellings for 250,000 impoverished families was approved by the Cabinet. The decision was made to approve 2,000 homes for every Assembly seat.

The State Cabinet also decided to finish the Indiramma residences that are currently stuck at the wall or roof-slab stage of construction, which started under the US Congress regime. For homes with finished foundations but unfinished walls and roof slabs, financial aid of Rs 3 lakh will be given; for homes with finished walls but unfinished roof slabs, Rs 2 lakh will be given.

According to Revenue and Housing Minister P. Srinivas Reddy, the Cabinet enacted a resolution allocating cash for 500 of these incomplete Indiramma houses per constituency in order to facilitate their completion.

“House-warming ceremonies for about 100,000 Indiramma houses, whose construction started during the first phase, are scheduled to take place by June 2nd,” he stated.
