Prime Minister Narendra Modi was present at Chief Justice of India (CJI) D.Y. Chandrachud’s Delhi home on Wednesday night for the Ganesh Puja festivities.
Wearing a mustard-colored kurta, CJI Chandarchud extended a warm greeting to the Prime Minister at his home, expressing their common spiritual and cultural traditions. The two then shared prayers.
Along with the Prime Minister, CJI Chandarchud’s wife offered prayers on this auspicious occasion of Ganesh Puja.
On September 7, the 10-day Ganapati festival began with national zeal and jubilation.
It should be noted that CJI Chandrachud is from Maharashtra, where Ganesh Puja is a significant holiday that is joyfully observed.
Although Chandrachud was born in Mumbai, he lived a significant portion of his formative years in Maharashtra, where he started his legal career.
While Mumbaikars have prepared to worship the God of Knowledge by erecting large pandals showing messages for peace and progress, thousands of people from the Konkan region, also known as “Chakarmani,” are celebrating Ganesh Puja.
The divisional commissioners, district collectors, and police authorities have been instructed by the Maharashtra government to maintain a close watch to ensure that the state’s festivities are free of incidents.
Over 15,000 police officers are stationed in the Greater Mumbai region, while an additional 6,000 are stationed in the Thane Commissionerate, which borders the city.
