The conglomerate’s existence in Kenya is the subject of phoney press releases, which the Adani Group fiercely refuted on Monday. The company also threatened to take legal action against anyone who disseminates false information.
In a statement, a Group representative claimed that certain “vested interests with malicious intent” are disseminating a number of false news releases, one of which was headlined “Adani Group Denounces Baseless Accusations and Threats” and concerned the company’s operations in Kenya.
The Group spokesperson stressed, “We categorically state that neither the Adani Group nor any of its companies or subsidiaries have issued any Press Releases related to Kenya.”
“We strongly condemn this deceitful act and urge everyone to disregard these fake fraudulent releases completely,” the statement added.
The Group declared, “We will take legal action against anyone involved in spreading false narratives.”
“Media and influencers should verify facts and sources before publishing or broadcasting any articles or news on the Adani Group,” the statement urged.
The Adani Group categorically refuted and repudiated unfounded allegations made by US short-seller Hindenburg Research last week regarding the company’s cash being blocked by Swiss authorities.
A representative for the Adani Group refuted the unfounded accusations, dismissing the charges.
“We categorically reject and refute the fabricated accusations made. According to a business representative, “The Adani Group is not involved in any court proceedings in Switzerland, nor have any of our company accounts been subject to sequestration by any authority.”
According to the spokeswoman, the Adani Group is “steadfastly committed to transparency and compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.”
