India’s top batsman, Virat Kohli, was seen in Vrindavan on Tuesday with his wife, Anushka Sharma, a day after he declared his retirement from Test cricket. On social media, a video of their trip to the sacred hamlet where Lord Krishna grew up went viral.

Virat and Anushka met and were blessed by Sant Premanand Govind Sharan in Vrindavan.

With 9,230 runs in 123 games, including an incredible 30 hundreds and 31 fifties, Kohli concluded his remarkable 14-year Test career on Instagram on Monday.

Over the past few years, the pair has been seen visiting a number of temples. The images of Virat, Anushka Sharma, and their kids visiting Vrindavan in January of this year to ask Premanand Ji Maharaj for his blessings went popular on social media.

The pair went to the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain in 2023. The two had previously traveled to Uttarakhand’s Kainchi Dham to visit the Neem Karoli Baba Ashram on a spiritual pilgrimage.

Prior to next month’s five-match Test series against England, Virat reportedly informed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) of his decision to retire from Test cricket.

India’s red-ball comeback during the last ten years has been largely attributed to Kohli, who made his Test debut in 2011. India has become a competitive Test team both domestically and internationally thanks to his aggressive captaincy, prolific batting, and unrivaled intensity.

With 40 victories altogether, he put up his spikes as the fourth-most successful Test captain, trailing only Steve Waugh (41 wins), Ricky Ponting (48 wins), and Graeme Smith (53 wins).

After Rahul Dravid (36), Sunil Gavaskar (34), and Sachin Tendulkar (51 hundreds), Kohli is the fourth most successful Indian batsman with 30 Test hundreds. Additionally, Kohli achieved the most Test double hundreds of any Indian with seven. Gavaskar (11 centuries) is well behind his 20 tons, making him the Indian skipper with the most Test hundreds.

Following India’s victory in the T20 World Cup last year, the right-handed batsman had earlier declared his retirement from the T20I format. The 36-year-old will now only play for India in One-Day Internationals.
