On Wednesday at 11 a.m., Prime Minister Narendra Modi will preside over a pivotal meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) in New Delhi, where high-level talks will center on national security.
In addition to developing a strategic response to Pakistan, the high-stakes meeting is anticipated to discuss the fallout from “Operation Sindoor” and the terrorist incident in Pahalgam.
Key ministries and senior representatives from the defense, home, external affairs, and intelligence sectors will discuss India’s readiness on both the military and intelligence fronts at the CCS meeting.
Reviewing intelligence inputs, evaluating defense activities, and talking about diplomatic options in response to rising regional tensions will be major items on the agenda.
This is a critical meeting as India considers its options after ‘Operation Sindoor‘, a counter-terror operation that has been classified and is said to have had significant tactical gains.
The terror incident in Pahalgam, which killed security officers, has made strategic reevaluation and possible retaliation actions even more urgent.
A day after meeting with members of the Indian military at the Adampur Airbase in Punjab, Prime Minister Modi took charge of the CCS.
The visit was highly symbolic, highlighting the government’s appreciation of the sacrifices made by the armed personnel and its solidarity with them.
“This slogan is not just a proclamation but a vow of every soldier who is willing to give his life to protect Maa Bharti,” Prime Minister Modi said in an address to the troops. Every citizen who want to serve their country has a say in this. Both the objective and the field find resonance in this voice.
