Following coordinated attacks on Iran’s strategic nuclear installations, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised US President Donald Trump on Sunday, describing the military operation as a daring and historic step that could change the course of the Middle East.
Netanyahu applauded Trump’s decision to target Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, including the heavily guarded Fordow site and installations at Natanz and Esfahan, in a video speech following the strikes. The Israeli leader reaffirmed “Peace through strength,” which has been the shared motto of both leaders for a long time.
“Peace comes after strength,” Netanyahu declared. “The United States and President Trump showed tremendous strength tonight. History will remember this action because it is bold and decisive.
In what has been called a highly successful mission, the US military reportedly launched 30 Tomahawk cruise missiles at Natanz and Esfahan and dropped six bunker-buster bombs on the Fordow nuclear site. The alleged “Rising Lion” codename for the operation was to neutralize Iran’s alleged imminent nuclear threats.
Congrats, President Trump. “This is a crucial moment because of your brave leadership and decision to use the overwhelming power of the United States to strike Iran’s nuclear sites,” Netanyahu said. “This action, in my opinion, denies the most dangerous regime in the world access to the most dangerous weapons in the world.”
Netanyahu agreed that the US operation was considerably more extensive than any country could have carried out, but he also emphasized Israel’s role in thwarting regional threats. This will go down in history as the point at which a boundary was established. He went on to say that President Trump’s actions were taken for global security as well as American security.
In the meantime, Trump confirmed the bombings on his platform, Truth Social, writing, “A complete payload of bombs was landed on Fordow… Every jet is returning home safely. “There is no other force on Earth that could have accomplished this,” he said, praising the American military and declaring the mission a success.
Trump emphasized in his statement that “now is the time for peace” and said he would speak to the country at 10 p.m. local time to go over the operation in further detail. Following the military response, Trump urged Iran to “end this war” and reevaluate its nuclear aspirations, calling the occasion significant for the US, Israel, and the world.
