On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will begin a two-day trip to Gujarat, where he will officially launch and lay the groundwork for several economic and infrastructure projects totaling more than Rs 5,400 crore.
The programs advance the goals of “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” and “Make in India” by addressing important areas such as urban development, energy, transportation, and green mobility.
Following the dedication of various development projects aimed at modernizing Gujarat’s infrastructure and service delivery, the Prime Minister will speak at a public event on Monday at Ahmedabad’s Khodaldham Ground.
PM Modi will visit Hansalpur on August 26 to recognize a significant milestone in India’s electric vehicle development.
He will sign off on Suzuki’s first strategic global battery electric vehicle (BEV), the “e VITARA,” which will be exported to more than 100 nations, including important markets like Japan and Europe.
“The Prime Minister will inaugurate and flag off Suzuki’s first global strategic Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV), the ‘e VITARA,’ in a significant demonstration of the success of Made in India,” the PMO stated in a statement.
He will also launch the local manufacturing of hybrid battery electrodes at the TDS Lithium-Ion Battery Plant, a joint venture between Toshiba, Denso, and Suzuki, in a major move toward green energy.
The announcement described it as a significant milestone for India’s battery industry and said, “More than 80 percent of the battery value will now be manufactured within India.”
In order to improve logistics, connectivity, and industrial access, PM Modi would invest more over Rs 1,400 crore to major railway projects, including the doubling of the Mahesana–Palanpur rail line, gauge conversions, and the flagging off of passenger and freight trains.
In order to lessen traffic and increase industrial production, he will also start important road infrastructure projects, such as the expansion of the Viramgam–Khudad–Rampura road, new car underpasses, and railway overbridges.
The PM will unveil projects totaling more than Rs 1,000 crore in Ahmedabad, Mehsana, and Gandhinagar under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme, which would reinforce electrical infrastructure and lower outages in order to improve power distribution.
The expansion of the Sardar Patel Ring Road, the start of in-situ slum rehabilitation under PMAY (U), and the installation of contemporary water and sewer infrastructure are examples of urban development projects.
To improve digital governance and data security, administrative improvements also include a State-Level Data Storage Center in Gandhinagar and a new Stamps and Registration building in Ahmedabad.
“The Prime Minister will also launch the next stage of India’s battery ecosystem with the commencement of local production of hybrid battery electrodes at the TDS Lithium-Ion Battery plant in Gujarat, marking significant progress towards becoming Aatmanirbhar in the field of green energy.” As a joint venture between Toshiba, Denso, and Suzuki, the plant will promote innovation in sustainable energy and domestic production. The PMO said, “This development guarantees that over 80 percent of the battery value will now be manufactured within India.”
