B.S. Yediyurappa, a former chief minister and member of the BJP Central Parliamentary Board, stated on Wednesday that the party will focus especially on making sure its candidates win the next Karnataka local body elections.

Speaking to reporters at the BJP state office “Jagannath Bhavan” in Bengaluru, he stated that the state president and all senior leaders have started meeting with important leaders in every district as of right now in order to improve the organization and the party structure. As part of this effort, he noted, talks are also being held about the upcoming local body elections.

He declared, “We have decided to give special focus to winning our party candidates by highlighting this government’s misrule before the people.”

In response to a query regarding Chief Minister Siddaramaiah becoming the state’s longest-serving chief minister, Yediyurappa stated that Siddaramaiah’s administration style differs from that of D. Devaraj Urs.

According to him, it is impossible to compare the two leaders. He claimed that attempts to highlight accomplishments through conventions and publicity-driven events would not be appreciated by the public at a time when this government is rife with corruption. Additionally, he asserted that the BJP is already winning local body elections throughout the state.

According to him, the party’s primary goal is to build a BJP-led government with a sizable majority in the upcoming elections. “Our party workers have enthusiastically come forward. You will see the BJP win the local body elections in the upcoming days,” he confidently declared.

Notably, when speaking to the media, Yediyurappa made no reference to an alliance with the JD(S).

Notably, after former prime minister and Rajya Sabha member H.D. Deve Gowda said that his party will run independently in the local body elections, BJP officials from Karnataka’s Mandya district are resisting an alliance with the JD(S).

BJP leaders reportedly voiced their disapproval of Deve Gowda’s comments at the most recent core committee meeting. Former MP Sumalatha Ambareesh, former Minister K.C. Narayana Gowda, and other BJP officials from the Mandya district are reportedly furious about the matter, especially since the party gave up the Mandya Lok Sabha seat to Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy and put a lot of effort into his election.

“Deve Gowda has stated that his party will contest the local body polls independently,” Narayana Gowda told the journalists on Wednesday. Even though our party had an MP in office at the time, we gave up our right to run for the Mandya Lok Sabha seat. Along with the current MP, we vigorously campaigned for Kumaraswamy in the Lok Sabha elections after persuading the party high leadership to give the seat to the JD(S).

Deve Gowda has declared that the JD(S) would run independently in Karnataka’s local body elections.

“Neither the Prime Minister nor Home Minister Shah are allowed to discuss seat-sharing in local elections. Only for significant national elections like the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections would we talk to them about seat-sharing. “Building the regional party at the grassroots level is my top priority,” he declared.

In the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections, he reaffirmed that the JD(S) would continue to solidly support the NDA.
